I am black, I know that modt would chew up a white person for protecting the flag (just because of his/her skin color, he/she would be called racist for voicing out the same opinion that I hold, just for having an idea about society and expressing it, but you would just be shocked with me unless you're of my race in which case you would probably call my ideas stupid like my brother did. To be honest I am about to buy a few to hang in my room when I get my place. There is nothing wrong with the flag. What's wrong with it? It is not in its pattern a symbol of ethnocentricism as is the Nazi flag. Instead in its patterns, it is a symbol of regionalism, the 13 stars for states. The swastika has represented good fortune. I don't see why it can't again. Or it could represent the positive of ethnocentricism, the banding together such as us blacks have had with the Black Power symbol (I had to make sure I pointed out my race because people just can't take this from a white man *rolls eyes*). But race is far from this flag though the people that tend to hold it tend to be white. But when I get my place, I am going to hang a Confederate flag up outside my door and let them see that the Confederate flag in its historic interpretation does not symbolize a specific kind of people directly, only indirectly because of the people holding it. Directly it only represents this great region called the South. heritage, my friend; I love it. The more we limit the moderate use of the Confederate flag, the more we will see it proportionally in extreme cases because the moderate people who might use the flag are pressured by the social eye to not make use of it and because they are more moderate, most of them will just be able to suck it up and move on and if they are more moderate and really like the flag, then they will bury their interest or take a picture that goes viral whose comments say, "You are a racist.", "Why would you do that?", "That can only mean one thing, not good." Are you
