Raw milk is relied upon by many for it's health benefits. This is a free choice which is in danger of being taken away. Raw milk totally outstrips pasteurised, homogenised milk, which has been proven to be very bad for health. Whose side is the government on?

Raw Milk is a Great Source of All things good. I drank Green Top Milk( ie Brucellosis tested) for years and remained perfectly healthy. It was the nicest, tastiest milk I have ever tasted. Now it is hard to find and should be restored to general sale in the UK. Raw Milk is great stuff

Raw milk has many health benefits. Personally I was brought up on it. I no longer drink store bought milk and think its a travesty, and down right criminal that it is also homogenised. I am a nutritional therapist who facilitates many to better their health and like to eat a healthy diet too. Why does government think they can dictate what we should and should not eat/drink. Pasteurised and homogenised milk has lost any health benefits and is bad for you. Even the calcium in it cannot be absorbed - lack of mg. vit D vit K etc, not to mention all the hormones and antibiotics. If I chose too I feel it is within my human rights to be able to buy raw milk from a cow that has been raised and fed naturally, without having to buy my own cow and follower. Please reconsider....I also live in Scotland and would like the silly law here to be reversed. Thanks

I can't believe that due to health and safety regulations, we are not allowed a kettle at work in case we burn ourselves. Meanwhile we are forced to squash up like sardines in a tin on the underground in the rush hours! Far more dangerous. Untreated dairy products are so much healthier than pasteurised pathogenic diary. The logic and reason to why governments make these decisions has left the building. Lactose is metabolised by the body using enzymes in the milk. Pasteurisation kills these enzymes along with essential gut bacteria. No wonder we have lactose intolerance and other modern day diseases.

Allow us to make our own decisions, there has been little to no health issues from drinking raw milk from healthy cows.

It's abundantly clear by reading various forums that people are passionate about having the OPTION to purchase raw milk.
The government has set up this ludicrous system where the farmers are selling their milk for LESS than it costs to produce the milk. Most farmers can only exist in this industry by claiming benefits.
Oh and here is a study carried out on Countryfile by some students:
Three petri dishes were prepared, one with UHT milk, one pasteurised and one raw milk, and left open to the atmosphere. Nothing grew on the UHT sample, it could not support life. Only good bacteria grew on the raw sample, and only bad bacteria grew on the pasteurised one. Why? Well, in the pasteurised sample, the good bacteria once in it were now all dead, leaving a good substrate ripe for invasion by whatever bacteria were around in the atmosphere, whereas with the raw sample, the good bacteria still in the milk repelled any bacteria that tried to invade.
Thank you
May we maintain the freedom we grew up with.
