Since 1986 Oprah Winfrey began paving the way for Blacks through television & media. Oprah used her platform as a positive vehicle to encourage others (regardless of race or gender) to better themselves, and strive for excellence in every area of their lives. That same platform motivated Tyler Perry to follow his dreams and devote his life to his passion. Because Tyler Perry is a product of everything Oprah Winfrey embodies, it only made sense for her to extend the olive branch to him, allowing him access to OWNetwork.
