Saturday Night Live has a long history of taking 'shots' at political leaders on all sides of the American political equation. The shots are always taken in a respectful way. Politicians and others who are the butt of the jokes laugh at themselves and even participate in the comedy. Fans love it!!

One week it can be about Hillary Clinton and the next about Donald Trump. Hillary took center stage in recent weeks, along with President Bill Clinton. Conservatives didn't call for SNL to toss her off the show even though she's under FBI investigation, and has referred to some Americans as terrorists. We have a sense of humor, we respect Free Speech (along with all rights explicitly given and not given under our Constitution), and are tolerant of different views while standing firm for right and wrong. We don't promote coercion of individuals, groups, the press, or anyone just because they don't share our views.

Calls by some for SNL to remove Trump as future host are based on a lie that needs to be extinguished, NOW. Trump did not criticize immigrants. In fact, he has called for improved immigration laws to allow immigrants educated in the USA to stay in the USA. What Trump did speak out against are ILLEGAL ALIENS as the problem is out of control, existing laws are not enforced, and American citizens have even been murdered as a result (illegals who are also felons not being deported). Illegal Aliens are not Legal Immigrants. Efforts by a small but vocal minority to mix the two and accuse Trump of criticizing LEGAL immigrants are made in a spirit of patent dishonesty.

We, all HUGE FANS of SNL, truly appreciate you having Trump host an upcoming SNL show. We ask you to stand by this easy decision. We realize it will be great for NBC's viewership and bottom line. We, your real fans, will do our part to help make it the most watched SNL show of all time!!!
