In addition to all other valid points brought up a huge topic to be considered is that the arts and vocatinal classes will suffer most. I may be graduating from GC this year but music has changed my life. Decreasing students opportunity to participate in these programs is discrimination towards students who have passions outside of the four core subjects.

The graduation rate will decrease, teachers will lose jobs, classes will be dropped, we will have larger class sizes, more classes per day, yet fewer classes per year, which gives students fewer chances to fail classes and graduate on time. Dual-enrollment, honors, AP, and other elective classes will also suffer due to this.

Having trimesters is better for every student at the highschool. It gives all students the chance to experience having multiple different classes, and with trimesters we have less of a chance in doing so.

The switch will hardly solve one problem and create many others. It isn't just a minor thing to lose credits and have to make those up as it seems to be implied to be.
