Petition to keep the Town & Country neighborhood within the boundary of Dry Creek Elementary School. Dry Creek is our neighborhood school and is at risk of having its boundaries redrawn by Clovis Unified to exclude children residing in Town & Country.
Town & Country is located southeast of the intersection at Fowler and Shepherd Avenues, adjacent to the Deauville neighborhood, sharing a common entrance at Armstrong Avenue.
Town & Country is Dry Creek. Residents volunteer in their children's classrooms, support the Dry Creek PTC, attend the school Carnival and pledge money to the jog-a-thon. Cars sport Dry Creek bumper stickers not only as a show of support for our children but because we have pride in our neighborhood and it's association with Dry Creek Elementary.
- Families moved to Town & Country so our children could attend Dry Creek. Never could we have imagined that CUSD would move to displace our children given Town & Country’s close proximity to Dry Creek Elementary.
- Town & Country and Deauville to the east are tightly integrated neighborhoods; our children attend school, foster relationships and play within our combined neighborhood parks – to redraw the boundaries, splitting up children located within these close-knit neighborhoods would be tragic.
- The proposed boundary change would create a significant impact to our young children currently attending Dry Creek. These children need as much stability as possible.
- The proposed boundary change leaves our children isolated relative to other Century Elementary school families.
- The safety of our children needs to be a priority for Clovis Unified. The proposed redesign does not provide a safe way for our Children to walk or ride a bike to Century Elementary School. Routes to Century from Town & Country are high speed-limit 2 lane unimproved roads with no bike lane or sidewalk available.

Please leave Town & Country at Dry Crerk. We rented an apartment for 7 months inbetween buying this home and selling our last so our children would not have to move schools and could stay at Dry Creek. Thank you.
The proposed change would leave families in both Town and Country and Deauville feeling as if they moved cities away. The neighborhoods are fully integrated and should remain as such. Boundaries should be changed within the district to cause the least amount of impact as possible. That isn't what is happening.
This will devastate and children. They have built life long friends in these neighborhoods. To displace kids in their final year of elementary school stripping them of their friends, teachers and parents they know and love is damaging to our kids.
We bought this house 6 months ago for the specific intention of staying at Dry Creek. Our family has been at this school for 8 years and Dry Creek is home. Please don't do this to our very supportive neighborhood. We feel very singled out since we are the only neighborhood east of fowler to be moved from Dry Creek.
Dry Creek is our 2nd home as has been for the past 9 years. My sons have been #1 in Jog-a-thon those 9 years, raising thousands of dollars. My husband has also coached Lego Robotics for DC. We are strong supporters of this school!
Why split some thing all apart when it's already working very well... Please rethink this
These two proposals (nearly identical) lack sense in numerous ways. There's the obvious impact to those students and families impacted directly, but also one of the objectives was to keep neighborhoods together. Now they are splitting Town & Country off - and it is heavily intertwined with Deauville. Clovis is intentional about providing walking paths and trails - Town & Country has a trail that goes right to Dry Creek without crossing any major roads or traffic signals. Also, in these scenarios, the district would be bussing kids from Bud Rank to Dry Creek, and kids from Dry Creek to Century...that's got to be a financial impact as well. Perhaps the students being bussed from Bud Rank can just be bussed a touch further to Century, avoiding the need to bus Dry Creek kids altogether, and not displacing two sets of students in the proposed "double bump." We understand that MOST who would be forced to change schools would be upset. We get it. Someone has to do it. But the solution just doesn't make sense! Dry Creek is a school that families intentionally seek to attend. They buy homes quite selectively (and pay more money for them) in order to attend Dry Creek. We are a community, not just a school. We are invested in Dry Creek and have spent years intentionally cultivating relationships. Town & Country is DC! There are better solutions. Please take the time to explore them and leave us at DC!

All district transfer students need to be removed before we look at changing district boundaries. We have quite a few students at our school who do not live in our area. They should not get a spot in our neighborhood school above the families that have invested in the properties supporting the area.
