Restore Funding for Tourette Services in Pennsylvania

I didn't know who to turn to when I realized my oldest son, and myself, had Tourette Syndrome. I called PA-TSA and got so much information and reassurance from the woman I spoke with on the phone. All 3 of my children have Tourettes. Governor Wolf, please spend a day with a child or an adult with Tourette Syndrome to get a better understanding of this condition, and perhaps you will reconsider funding for PA-TSA in the next proposed budget. Thank you for your consideration.

My niece's family utilized services from the PA Tourette Syndrome Alliance this past year. It was an invaluable resource that litfed the entire family. Siblings became closer and more understanding, the TS affected child's symptoms became more manageable and his parents found a support system. Please know how much this tremendous resource has helped.

The TS society has been instrumental in helping my family and son with TS. Families like ours desperately need these services!

It has come to my attention again, and unfortunately, that our government that is supposed to be for the people is kicking the ladder out from underneath the very ones they should be protecting. By not protecting and moving forward in the support of Children and Families with Tourette syndrome you are doing a disservice to yourselves in the community. There's so much that neurotypical families take for granted. But special needs parents don't. While most families dream of a time when they can start planning their child's graduation parties and proms, some of us just plan to get through the week. Pennsylvania, you're on the verge and at the forefront of making this country so phenomenal, lead the country. Show the support, do what is right for these children and their families. Do not back down from this challenge, because it will be rewarding for everyone and for generations to come.

The support my son has received from the Tourette Society has been invaluable. This Nuerological condition which came on out of nowhere causing my seven year old to tick nonstop in a convulsive manor rocked our world and changed the course of lives. We need as much help, support and research for this disorder that is not understood and that their is no successful treatment plan for, not less! I am crushed the budget has been cut. Their are no words to describe the thanks I have for the help from the amazing Tourette’s Society. We need these resources in place!

Support should continue to help the many who have Tourettes.

The PA Tourette Syndrome Alliance has been such a support do my daughter and son-in-law. There son, my grandson has tourettes.

Consider adding Tourettes into your budget!

Tourette’s is a difficult condition with an enormous social stigma. Individuals Are often ostracized for behaviors out of their control. Public funding would help to educate the public regarding this condition and provide assistance to individuals who suffer from it.
