Keep Thompson Place Safe with Sidewalks

For the safety of all, this street needs speed bumps.

This seems like a no brainer.

I like on Thompson Place and would love to see a sidewalk, as well as other appropriate traffic calming measures. Everyday I witness dozens upon dozens of neighbors and visitors strolling along Thompson in the middle of the street, often with their children and/or pets. We are proudly a one-car family and my wife and I, along with our dog, walk Thompson multiple times a day. We love Roswell for its walk-ability and charm. A sidewalk would not only improve the safety for both pedestrians and motorists, but also add to the character of Thompson. I am grateful to be a resident of Roswell and excited about its growth.

I live in Land O Lakes and my family enjoys the walk from our neighborhood to Canton Street. Please consider making a sidewalk along Thompson Place a priority as I feel it is only a matter of time before a pedestrian is hit along this popular road

I think traffic "taming" devices such as chicanes should be tried on Thompson too. When I lived off of Thompson Place, I made it a point to walk along it as little as possible, taking other, longer routes to avoid the traffic.

It would make the community much safer and downtown more accessible

In order of preference: sidewalks, implementing a 'no parking on BOTH sides of the street' law during events, speed bumps to slow traffic.

There are MANY areas that need sidewalks FINISHED like Minhinette and Woodstock. Also Woodstock and Canton. This should be a priority for city leaders!

Completely agree and will help property values immensely! No brainer lets do it now, much much harder if not impossible later.

Sidewalks first please! Make us more walkable.

Agree. Thompson Place is the main artery onto Canton Street. Lots of families walk up Thompson for Alive After Five. As it is now with parking on both sides it is VERY DANGEROUS. Sidewalks would help.

Stop building all these condos & apartments!!!! It makes me want to move out of Roswell. The traffic is too much! This area is too crowded. Not the quaint town I moved here to live in.

This is a much needed improvement. Good use of our tax dollars.

Sidewalks will make the street safer & friendlier for strollers and neighbors. People are spending big bucks on homes on this street and deserve this support from local government . How about more street lighting, too?

As Canton Street has become a major destination, the City hasn't addressed the impacts to abutting streets and homes where they have seen an increase in traffic. Thompson Pl. and other connecting streets desperately need sidewalks to provide a Safe means of walking within their neighborhood and to the shops and restaurants on Canton St. As a Post 3 Council Candidate, I will advocate for improved walkability and connectivity for our neighborhoods. -George Vail www.george4roswell.org
