Why would this bookstore close? It would be a real loss to DC. Keep it open?

The physical presence of the World Bank Infoshop conveys an important message in itself. By inviting all passersby to enter and share knowledge, it reminds those who otherwise don't work for, or do business with, the World Bank that the institution is striving to end poverty and promote prosperity. That can't be accomplished by a web site alone. Don't close it!

Please keep it open - the infoshop is an essential part of the Bank's outreach to the community and tourists. Many people come into the store and it is self-sustaining.

I go to this shop at least once a week. Its the only real bookstore left in Washington DC. It is the only bookstore in the central business area of DC. Without the Bank's info shop the cultural desert of midtown will be even more intellectually barren and bare then it already is. Don't close this shop. It is an institution. What will replace it? Anther mindless fast food chain, another coffee shop. Give us all a break.

Aside from being a unique and popular bookstore, the InfoShop is essentially the Bank's visitor center. To close it would be a big mistake.

The World Bank Bookstore sells great non-fiction books at significant discounts. It's one of my favorite stores in the area; there's nowhere like it. It would be sad to see it disappear.

The InfoShop has been a public space for the greater community of Washington and for the international visitors (many of our clients) visiting the Bank and DC. It is a place that brings people into the space of the Bank to understand the bank and its objectives, to access information, browse and learn about the Bank and the world -- the KM side and the information sharing side of the Bank. It should remain one of the corner stones of the Bank.

I come to WB bookstore to buy WB souvenirs from Tshirt to paper weight to magnet, etc. I also have a friend who is not a Bank staff but is in academia and she frequents the bookstore. Please don't close the bookstore. Thank you.

The Infoshop, the only good bookstore left in the neighborhood, is a very visible face of the Bank. This valuable resource finds not only by Bank staff, but also visiting government officials and others wanting to learn what the Bank is doing, to find lessons from other countries, or to shop for memorabilia in one convenient place. Closing it now is sad and short-sighted.
