Great bookstore. It is rare to find such a great variety of books related to development policy/economics. Please keep it open!

This bookstore has been an important resource for the international development community in the Washington area. The World Bank's mission is to support global development, and this bookstore has been an effective instrument to do that.

Please keep it opened... It is the only link that regular people have to the World Bank.

I just learned about this wonderful shop - and now I hear it's closing! Please reconsider.

This is a major community resource, especially for people interested in development but not directly working in it.

I think that the Work Bank Bookstore has been a very valuable resource and would ask that you reconsider the decision to close it.

The Bank as a an institution that compiles, curates, and offers knowledge to the rest of the world is a model. It is as a knowledge institution that most people in the world will have any direct contact with the work of the Bank. The InfoShop is the only Bank facility really open to the public, and their they find the Bank's most enduring value, the fruit of its continued quest for knowledge and the quest itself. This is not about merely personal affection for the Bank; it s an already existing and extremely well-functioning and cherished ambassador for the Bank in one of the world's most international cities. If there were something in the works to take its place that would be better, the song and dance about it would be endless. But of course this good thing is to be taken away and replaced with nothing. A net negative for the development community in Washington, and, indeed, for anyone who reads to learn.

WB Bookstore is a good neighbor rather than the closed fortress buildings. Think globally, act local.

As a journalist covering the IMF I bought many books here to educate myself about world economics, central banking, financial systems and other extremely specialized topics. Where else but here would I get all of this under one roof? The internet does not help me sort out the best of the material available. I understand the WorldBank's mission is global, but DC is a hotbed of activity that affects the rest of the world. Why throw away this valuable resource?

This is a real loss for the World Bank, IMF, and the downtown community. I'm not sure who thought closing down the World Bank Bookstore was a good idea, but it shows a real lack of judgment. It's actually the humanizing public face of the organization.

The internet is supremely relevant, but the importance of bookstores such as this cannot be overlooked in the name of information sharing.

I loved to buy there. How can you close a business with so many (paying) fans?
