Saddened that this pub has closed...lots of great memories over many years...why are us locals not given a fair say this is our town.

The local council should step in - Barking and Dagenham even have a planning document about the incredible decline in local pubs and have helped stop that with the Pipe Major in E Dagenham. As long as the site doesn't get planning permission for residential, there's a chance of re-opening as a pub.

Disgusting, absolutely disgusting that this pub could close. To make way for what? More flats that an already overcrowded borough doesn't need!! Our history is been erased before our very eyes and needs to stop!

A great old pub which I have drunk in for over fifty years. The brewery should be ashamed of themselves by deliberately running it down in order to develop the site.

If we want to save pubs we need to use them as pubs and not just landmarks.

I think this pub should stay as it seems to do really well especially on a Friday night and it is a bloody good night out and there's not many descent pubs about nowadays
