The trees in the Rhinebeck Bank parking lot provide great shade to local business patrons, create a beautiful view and provide a green “upstate experience” for locals and visitors. These trees are healthy and are minimally disrupting the sidewalk that runs alongside a commercial building (23 E. Market Street). This petition will be used to show our support for keeping the trees in the Rhinebeck Bank parking lot. The reason the bank has provided for removing the trees is “to keep the sidewalk safe”. We hope they will consider pruning the trees as needed and consider alternative measures to provide safety that will not disrupt the trees. This petition will be shown to the Rhinebeck Planning Board, the Rhinebeck Tree Committee and the Rhinebeck Bank in the hope that they will consider another option that will favor keeping the trees.
The momentum is incredible. This shows how much our town values these trees.

Those trees are gorgeous in the fall and make the whole area feel so much nicer. Dont just cut them down because its easier for the bank to manage!

Please let the trees stay. They soften the looks of the pavement and surrounding buildings.

I walk through there often and feel no danger from the trees! Trees provide important natural services that we all need. Trim, but don't remove!

We have so many old and diseased trees that have had to be taken down that it seems a shame to remove healthy ones.

I hear people say “I love the tree lined streets and the beauty of the Rhinebeck Village” I understand that they require attention but it is worth it otherwise you just have a ugly parking lot. Keep the trees!

Keep the trees and perhaps get rid of a few of the “bank only” parking spots. We are a community!
