we only have this event once a year, so we might as well celebrate it like its suppose to be... with food,local food, chamorro food

We must keep our Chamorros Culture alive. Its so great to see the younger generation fighting for what they believe in. Always be proud of who you are and where you come from!
Theres no point of GupotChamorro if there's no Gupot. Fiesta is life on Guam. probably the biggest tradition, and yet, they're trying to hold it against us.

This is a tradition that has gone on for YEARS! This is the ONLY time in a year where we are able to have our ISLAND food. Our custom. In my school all other students are left to eat Sodexo food and the ROTC program are able to bbq. What? Why? Why can they bbq and not us? It's just downright unfair. We have our aids watching over us. I understand that we have fights, smoking etc. But that gives you NO RIGHT to take that away from students who behave. Who ignore all of that. Who DESERVE it. And then they are only going to make it for half the day! Seriously!? The whole point of Gupot Chamorro is to have us have a WHOLE DAY of fesivities to celebrate the Chamorro culture. To keep it alive. Basically all i'm saying is, what is the point of having a Gupot Chamorro is we are not even going to be allowed to do one of our MAIN thing that lets us Chamorros be known? What is the point of having Gupot if we aren't even gonna be allowed to celebrate it the RIGHT way!?

I don't see why it has become an issue.. This is a tradition on Guam since I was in middle school and that's since the 90's.. If the patent don't want their child to join then that's fine. . They should put then in the Caf.. DOE do something about this!

its one day of the year that we are allowed to eat Chamorro dishes and you are taking that away from us? If you are afraid of food poisoning , why don't you just inspect the dishes yourselves? Let us have just that one day !

What is the use of having a REQUIRED chamorro class if we can't experience the life of the Chamorros by cooking the type of foods they eat . It's ONE day of the year we have to experience with our school and to have that time to reflect back on our chamorro people And now you took it away ! It makes no sense at all .

leave the traditions alone and stop trying to kill off the culture. when i was in school on Guam chamorro week was festivities celebrating the chamorro culture and gupot chamorro was always held on the last day. where the entire student body brings one traditional dish of some kind and enjoy eating together. smh what is going on Guam. some one in office has a few screws loose.

Guppy Chamorro is a great incentive to the student who have looked forward to this event all year. There has never been a serious issue of food poisoning in the past. I understand that this is a cautionary measure to ensure no one becomes liable for a mishap. However, this takes a way from the entire essence of guppy chamorro. It is an insult to the Chamorro culture to have a cafeteria cater to a traditional Chamorro fiesta, party, or gathering.

Mr. Super and Board, pls keep it real. No one ever dies from eating pot luck foods. Check out most restaurants aren't that squeaky clean on Island. Si RAguon eeeekeee.
