Please don it destroy my Great Great Great Grandfather's statue.

Leave the statue.

This can not be done. We have to save all of our history. Too many people are blindsided by current events to see what history means. . History has to be viewed not in present viewpoints but rather in the context of the time history presented itself at the time of history was created

Archer is my cousin's third great-grandfather.

This is an honorable and inspiring story of one man's bravery. The statue is about Archer Alexander and his heroic effort in the cause of freedom.

We should all have such heroes in our family tree. Thanks for sharing Archer's story.

From a descendant of Missouri German-American abolitionists: If one knows the history (and the personal history of the particular man rising to freedom) behind this memorial and can contextualize it, it's not a hard call to leave it standing.

We must know our history to not repeat mistakes!

This statue is an important commemoration of the freeing of the slaves. Keep it, and place a plaque with it’s history on a pedestal in front of it to give it context.

Respect Archer Alexander and President Lincoln by respecting the monument.
