Its fireworks on the 4th of July we're talking about here. If you want to mess with that, you must hate America.

Get over it people. It's a couple days a year, it's South Side tradition and if you don't like it.. MOVE!

There is NO reason to stop this! If you don't like this then those who are against it should move! This is our Tradition and has been for so many years.KEEP IT THAT WAY!!!!!!

These fireworks have been going on for so many years. People in this neighborhood are aware of this tradition before moving in.

Traditions are the cornerstones of our childhood's fondest memories, many many years ago they took away the man walking on the cage doing tricks and wowing the crowds, then the Waterfrolic pageant was gone, now after all of these years you want to take away the blowing up of the beach!!! Get serious people, stop taking things away that make memories of families gathering together doing something fun, and maybe just maybe life's little pleasures will help stop violence and violent behaviors. We have to start somewhere and having happy young children curled up waiting for the Big Bang in their parents arms feeling safe and protected by their Mommy's and daddy's then laughing and clapping and talking about it for a few days is a start!

Bayview and the South Shore is bigger than the few blocks surrounding the park. We should all get to vote.

This has been going on for years and if people can't deal with the noise for ONE weekend out of the year then they shouldn't be living there

I think the way this vote was handled was very shady and there should be another vote on the fireworks display

This is part of the history of the area. If you have a problem leave. Simple as that. You don't need to force an entire event to change just because you have an issue. Also what's going to happen in about a month where every city has their fireworks displays over the water in an area close to this? Are we getting rid of that too?

If the people that live near by don't like it they can move. They knew this was a part if history fun. Don't let the fireworks stop. It is only one of a few free things families can do and they plan for each year.
