Keep the Ridgecrest jail open. We need our officers on the street keeping us safe, not transporting people to other jails

I am a US Marine and former D&G licensed Security guard for G4S. I was hand picked be a SGT MAJ that ran the Sanctuary gated community which was the 3rd ranked wealthiest gated community in the country. I can assure you that if you decide to shut down this jail DWIs WILL go up, and your crime rate will rise potentially by a very significant amount. Presence does not stop crime, Presence deters crime. Meaning that it at least gives the person that would otherwise committ a crime a second thought before continuing with the action.

Please keep the jail open. The RCPD needs to take the law breakers somewhere especially if it"s late @ night. Thanks for the AWESOME JOB RCPD KCS and ALL the other Authorites on keeping our city SAFE..

Closing this jail is an awful idea. There must be other ways to trim the budget which do not cause such a tremendously negative impact on Ridgecrest PD and the community!

We need protection out here in the county. We also need a local jail to hold the suspects before taking them to Bakersfield way over on the other side of the mountains. Remember we are the second largest city in Kern County.
