As stated already, with the many issues occuring around our small city, we desperately need to keep our jail open.

It is not in the best interest of the civilians or police officers if the jail were to close, With the amount of parolees and criminals being dumped into our town. I think that it is A major must to have a jail system to accomidate those who commit crimes, By taking officers off the street to drive 100 miles one way to transport offenders would be taking part of the safety out of our community leaving fewer officers to patrol,and more bad guys on the street.

In a small town isolated from the bigger cities, closing this jail is a horrible idea. We already have a rising crime rate and this closing is going to force ALL (And this includes even CLPD) to have to cite and release all but the worst cases.
I had my house hit by a stolen car in January. The police were there in moments. If you close the jail, there is going to be a major slowdown in response time, since they will have to take people from the road to drive people to Mojave. People are going to lose even more faith in departments that are already facing prejudice for who they are.
This is a horrible idea. Do not punish this town and the surrounding areas that rely on this jail being here. You might be saving a few dollars, but you are hurting a community and leaving us feeling less secure in our safety.

Its important we have a jail for the safety of our town. Otherwise it would be like leaving children alone in a candy store and expecting them not to touch anything. Sure one or two kids will be well behaved, but most will go crazy.
Not to mention our officers are more likely to let the criminal go or the crime because they won't want to drive them out of town unless the crime is a major one. Please don't let this happen. If it does you can count on losing good and faithful residents and you will be left with criminals.

I think its a horrible idea to close the jail. I think there will be less arrests in this community and more crime in the city for the fact of us not having a jail system. we are not only putting our town at risk but our officers who do have to drive out of town just to put someone in jail. our safety should be the main concern rather than money in my opinion!!!!
