It’s odd that this petitioned the most important part about Brigham. After Joseph’s death, when he spoke he was transformed into Joseph. God gave Brigham the mantle.

Brigham Young was a great man who had an incredible influence on the early West. Don’t let people’ rewrite history with their limited view by new standards.

Another social warrior that was no where to be found when they were carving out an existence in the wilderness. So we should change the name because he has a cell phone and is bored . Let's change Crandall s name.

Why focus on shortcomings, whether all the good BY did!

Another pertinent fact is that Brigham Young encouraged women to be educated and vote. He said that if he had to choose, he would educate the women over the men, because the women would educate all the children.

Brigham Young University is a church owned school. Brigham Young established the university. The success of BY in this petition is quite astounding. BYU should NEVER be under any other name.

Brigham Young was an amazing man, leader and prophet. There is absolutely no reason why the name of the university he founded should be changed.

Please keep the name of Brigham Young University. He was and is a great Prophet of the Lord and I know he was called of God and God does not make mistakes calling His Prophets in these latter days.

We need to stand against this growing cloud of darkness that is redefining good and making it appear as evil. Brigham Young was God's faithful prophet and is name should not be dishonored by removing it.

All 3 presumptions advocating change to the name of Brigham Young University are false. BYU’s social conscience has evolved along with the rest of society & especially as the Flagship University of the Church through which we are always reminded of the Principles of the Gospel. As a student there in the mid-1960s & later in 1991 to finish my BA, my experience was the opposite of Racism, advocation of Violence of any kind & a significant move away from any left-over symptoms of misogyny - an historically prominent social construct that is now recognized & addressed as a social/cultural dysfunction.

“History is a foreign country, they do things differently there”. Keep that in mind when judging those in the past. I sure hope someone like Crandall isn’t in charge of writing my history.
