Exercise plays a vital roll in maintaining not just a healthy body but also mind. In a world were stress related illness grow more and more year on year having places like the Den are key to so many people, their lives, their families, how they interact within their communities and jobs. Sometimes you have to look further and deeper than the words in a text/rule book before making a decision. One wrong decision can have lasting effects on these individuals and communities.

This looks like something I could sorely use. Suffered from ADHD/AS since birth and developed depression and anxiety in my late teens early twenties after some very poor experiences and circumstances in my youth and lack of support for my conditions. Since Covid began all I have done is work tirelessly taking very little time for myself. Although I have managed to carry on my mental health has deteriorated again gradually over recent months. Hope for better days ahead is the only thing keeping me clinging on to life. After zero quality of life for several years and a suicide attempt in 2018 I am finally beginning to rebuild some sort of life. But I find every day I am asking myself, is it worth it? I can't just go to work and then go home everyday. I need human interaction even if it is outdoors at a distance and physical exercise is absolutely necessary to remain thinking positively and literally maintain my sanity, Aspergers meltdowns and breakdowns are not desirable in the slightest. It takes a long time to recover. With all of that in mind and current events considered we can't afford to lose sites like this. If anything we need more of them! I always feel my best when I am active and exercising. Exercise promotes both physical and mental health which is something the country sorely needs too! I truly believe if we are to get through this virus as a nation we need to stay fit and active. More outdoor training spaces and equipment. Shorter working hours for the same pay. So people have the time to access these spaces and thus creating more jobs for those that have already lost theirs due to this pandemic. Productivity will rise, unemployment will drop and the economy will grow once more. I really hope you succeed in this endevour! The future of our nation depends upon people like you to help us broken souls find peace and purpose. Best of luck

Facilities such as this should certainly not be closed down, very simply we need many more of them.

Lockdown has caused with people who suffer from mental health a lot of problems. Exercise in a safe and friendly place is very important to help them cope. To lose this facility would be determinal to their wellbeing

I love coming here for our work outs. I didn’t think a place like this existed so close to home. Friendly and so much fun too.

As someone with PTSD and can not always train indoors due to many triggers etc around gym plates slamming etc...outdoor facilities like this enable me to continue with my own fitness and the fitness of my clients who like me, struggle with unknown and unpredictable loud noises. Outdoor fitness has many benefits to not only my physical health but in many ways more so to my mental health. Places like this are vital to the mental health of the nation...especially at times as unprecedented as this!

We live in Brede and have enjoyed The Lions Den very much! The children really enjoy being outside and exercising with the fantastic equipment. They also love exploring the woodland area. It would be a real shame if this was taken away from the area.

It’s times like this that we need help with physical and mental health. Don’t take this away from the community.

It’s so lovely to have somewhere exciting to take the children within walking distance of our house. Being in a village there is very little to do. It would be a shame to lose something that a local family has worked hard to develop to benefit the whole community.

Good luck and I hope the local council work with you as they did with us at Cliff Lakes to see the importance outdoor training brings to the community.
