I learnt to fish here. Made some good friends and had a lot of laughs. Deserves to stay open especially because of all the comps that have been done for charity.

I have been fishing here for years would be a shame that future generations will not be able to fish from the pier .

Its an ideal place to take my younger children fishing its a save place for them

People have fished the pier since it was built. It must stay open for kids and their kids to learn to fish

This shop is so important to so many people and it has been there so long so please don 't close it. Like so many children I started sea fishing on a pier (Eastbourne) in my school days and many many years later I am still fishing !

Please leave the anglers alone.Its a tradition now to fish on the pier and they raise money for RNLI.

Piers are generally the only place I can take my disabled friend fishing please save it

You can't get rid of fishing on the pier it's right at the end and not harming anyone and has bin there for many years

Without This little bait and tackle hut on the Pier is one a true gem on a crown of our little town. It is not just a place for rough men to fishing. It is an educational centre for youngsters, who prefer to hold a fishing rod, not a beer can... Moreover, you cannot imagine all this happen without a MAN behind it - without Arran, always smiling, cheerful and extremely helpful person- a true Master of rod and reel and Pier end! By closing Bait and Tackle and stopping fishing on the Pier, new owner will destroy a very important part of townspeople life as this place on pier is a popular place for outdoor activities by local people, including children, disabled and elderly anglers, to whom fishing from shore often is difficult if not impossible... I hope decisions made by new owner to get rid of Pier-end fishing facilities are a result of poor information and he will revise it and to follow principles he claims - that all he is doing is in best interests of Eastbourne residents! Save Bait and Tackle shop and Fishing on Eastbourne Pier!

The revenue that Eastbourne community receives from visiting anglers and their families vastly outstrips the revenue that the pier alone receives, thus the lack of interest from the pier owner. Yet Eastbourne as a whole will be poorer, both economically and communally, should this attractor and local angling facility be lost.
