I really hope that fishing is still aloud and these guys get the help to make their business bigger and better - all we want is what's right for the pier

We used to go fishing on the pier with our dad and he had been fishing there since he was a lad. It's a local tradition and should be left well alone!

It would be a shame to put someone out of bussiness especially with the current financial climate. Also for those who cannot afford having holidays abroad and their only affordable hobby is fishing.

This new owner is not going to be very popular in Eastbourne very soon.
1 - he is planning on ending fishing
2 - he has painted the lions on the lamppost gold this is not within keeping to the grade listing
3 - charging or planning to charge £2 to go on the pier
All this is wrong it should be kept as it is. Fair enough there is room for refurbishment and improvement but not at the expense of local people and the tourist trade

Keep the fishing. The jetty is a ridiculous idea. The new owner is determined to strip the pier of all its history. And if that's the case the pier may as well fall into the sea.

Too many changes happen these days and not always for the best, so why change fishing from a pier it keeps most young lads out of trouble also older guys may use the pier too. So keep a 150 year attraction to fishermen open with the shop that has been built up over the years ty.

I fish the pier when I'm down there working and would miss my evenings relaxing and some different fishing to what I'm used to.
