Does the city staff have too much time on its hands to bother changing a perfectly adequate ordinance? I think perhaps yes.

Moved here from NSP where this was tried in 2014 (or therabouts) after successful lobbying of council members by one or two smoke averse neighbors. Once in place, both the police and most of the city's residents asked for it to be rescinded, which it was within a couple of months. There's gotta be bigger fish to fry than a neighbor's fire.

I like the idea of being able to have a backyard fire when I choose. Sitting back there with a beer and watching the fire is something that I enjoy.

Don't take away one of the great joys of enjoying an evening with friends and neighbors outdoors. Spontaneity is an important aspect of this.

Agreed. The present code affords for safe and fun fires. There does not appear to be a problem with things as they are. The code should be left as is. Pass it on.

Keep the code as it stands. Controlled recreational fires are just that; controlled and recreational. We do not need anyone micromanaging how we use our fire pit on our own property. Thank you.

When pit fires are outlawed only outlaws will have pit fires.

Trump is cutting regulations, while Eagan wants to add silly ones...ridiculous!!! Less government, MORE fun!!!

Right on I remember those days. Especially in the city. In our neck of the woods here near Hwy 13 and Lone Oak there are lots of burners. There’s been at least a fire a night all spring and summer. Probably no need to tie up the police phone lines announcing a campfire huh? Your support on this matter is awesome.

Absolutely not. This is wholly unnecessary.

back in the day you had to call to police dispatch to notify that you were going to have a recreational fire. in your neighborhood there are very few people who have them.
