I have family that lives next to the farmland and it has played an important part with their lives there.

We have used the Mertins farm for meat and vegetables for years!

My wife and I moved to nashotah a little over a year ago and live just down the road from the farm mentioned in this petition. The farm and the nature was a major part of what brought us to the area. Not allowing a farm to remain because of a manure ordinance that is otherwise perfectly ok with the WISCONSIN DNR is absurd and the fact that it has gotten to the point of needing a petition to become a relevant issue is also absurd. Wisconsin as a whole is a farming state. And with the current state of the economy and farming industry it has become even harder for local farms to remain intact. Thus, more cookie cutter subdivisions and pre-manufactured homes have taken up much of what was once beautiful land. Dont make a family sell their land and their lively hoods because of an ordinance put in place by people who have clearly never worked or lived on a farm.

To the village of Nashota, Listen to and serve the people of your community. Allow for a discussion at your board meeting.

Please rescind ordinance 215 - save our farm land.

Keep farming going

I agree with my husband. We are losing that country feeling.

Keep the natural space as is.. I’m all in favor of minimizing development to reduce the adverse effects of environmental impacts.

I live in the City of Delafield and we worked with city officials to come up with a compromise that may have not been perfect, but it demonstrated that if people are willing to come together and communicate we can find common ground that will benefit all. This property is a tremendous gift that has been provided by the Gehl family. For the Village of Nashotah officials to take such a hard stance, especially considering the amended ordinance change in Delafield, only seems to indicate they are not interested in what's best for this area. Look at the posts on Facebook, this petition, etc. People in general want Lake Country to stay country. Keep this farm before open fields turn into subdivisions.

I don’t live in Nashotah but I live in lake country area and I appreciate and understand the importance of farms not only for economic but also environmental impacts that they have on wildlife.

The older residents do know the smells of a pig farm. Nashotah road had one for a long time. The family is awesome and even thou their farm fell in Delafield, they were just as much part of Nashotah. We all went to school together, they supported village events, so see it just doesn't affect Nashotah! My thght was when people complain about the smells of farm, "they should have lived here back then!"

I must say I agree. I understand you can't have open meetings for very matter and that we voted these members in to make "good and right" decisions for the village, but when the people show strong interest and ask for an open meeting, it should be granted! Thank you for your support
