A green space buffer along the main thoroughfare (Shore Drive) is aesthetically pleasing, ecologically sound, will serve as a sound buffer for the East Beach neighborhood, and is in line with the original master plan for the community.

This space may seem like a waste of space and some developers/city could make a lot of money off of it. However, I believe there is greater community value in the space. Norfolk is the WORST place for parks and green spaces. Most of them are disgusting and crime ridden. This may be one of the few green gems in the entire city. There are no other farmers markets in town. Seriously, leave a good thing alone.

For the love of god please stop building useless condos, high rises, apartments. Not every last square inch needs to be built up. Not every last square inch needs to be potential profit. I long for the day when all these cheaply built condos sit empty because the population is declining. I might now see it myself, but it’s coming.

Stop building housing. You are neglecting the infrastructure needs of the area, and the desire that drove residents to the area in the first place.

Please save this as Green Space! Humans utilize it, dogs utilize it and there are plenty of homes already. I love the Farmers Market and the culture it provides to the area. Please help small business instead of more developers. It’s also an aesthetically pleasing open area that allows views of the bay!!!

I love this market and green space is so important to help absorb heat rather than reflect it like houses and concrete do

This space is more than a green space, this space brings the community together. During the pandemic this market was the only thing open and my family depended on this for a food source as many people in this area are confined to limited source of fresh produce. If you want to continue to bring people to the East beach area give them something more than just another set of town homes, leave this market in place. Improve the roads, update the shopping area. Things like that.
