Let’s keep our history as we move into the future! If mistakes were made keep the statute as a reminder to not make them again and learn from them as not to be repeated!

PLEASE, PLEASE dont take this statue down. It's a part of my Italian American Heritage, and a HUGE part of my family...with my father and grandfather..the Lamanna Flower Shop putting the wreath on the monument for decades....it's history I can leave to my children AND grandchildren.

My grandfather was one of the Italian immigrants that worked on the monument. He was stone cutter. It means a lot to our family.

Statues are a representation of the mindset of the culture of the time in which people lived. Leave them up so we can learn from them; the good and the bad. Should we start tearing down all of MLK's statues because he didn't believe in marriage equality!?! No, let's learn - all the good and bad - and keep moving forward as a nation.

Thanks to all the organizers and attendees that attended the inspirational, historic and educational gathering at Columbus Circle today. It was an eye opening experience that should be shared with our entire community. Also want to give a big shout—out to our first responders, especially those in blue keeping us all safe.

If you need to take it down from here then please move it to Little Italy. It was paid for by Italian immigrants.

I strongly support keeping the statue as it is a statement to the Italian community and a statement to America being built on immigration of all ethnicities.

Don't erase history. History is history, good or bad.
