This major arterial can not be restricted any more. Bikers need to remember there are a much higher percentage of people who are not physically able to ride bikes every day. The existing configuration is plenty for allowing bike commuters but even as is, the motor vehicle traffic is always backed up!

I am opposed to removing the center turn lane! I am one of those people that uses that turn lane to "shoot the gap" to get to my house daily. Traffic volume has increased significantly with the addition of new housing and to intentionally create bottlenecks by removing the turn lane is a terrible idea. Columbian feeds directly to I-5 and services Asa Mercer Middle School and the VA Hospital. This is not the place to remove turn lanes if the idea is to keep traffic moving. There is enough land on the planting strips that could be used to build the protected bike lanes and maintain the current lane configuration.

As both a cyclist and a driver, I oppose loosing the center turn lane. It will create longer back up, increase risky driving and push non-residential traffic through the neighborhood as people try to avoid Colombia Way. Also, there is very little bike traffic due to the steep terrain.

SDOT needs to focus more on increasing traffic flow and transit, less on unused bike lanes.

Please stop this ridiculous change to the roads. I rely on that middle lane to make left turns to get to my neighborhood.

Columbian Way serves a middle school, high school, elementary school and hospital. It will be a traffic nightmare and safety concern on the side streets with more drivers looking for alternate route.

Stupid idea. Traffic is terrible as is. I like biking but forcing more traffic congestion for some bike riders is rediculous. I swear the people that make these decisions never have to live with the results.
