Jay Guidetti is the third permanent director at Bridges Charter School since the school began in 2009 by a committed group of educators and parents. He made whole child education a priority, initiated restorative practices to aid in conflict resolution, and supported parent ideas in multiple positive ways in our school. He advocated alternative strategies for educating and disciplining students who were on the autism spectrum.
He was in front of the school helping direct traffic and waving to parents every morning. He knew every student's name and their parent's names. He was open and available with every family. He remained calm in the midst of difficult situations, and acted thoughtfully, supporting positive growth for everyone involved.
Several months ago, he was put on a leave of absence without explanation, and there are rumors the Board plans to terminate him after all this time. Bridges Charter School does not need a new administrator. We want Mr. Guidetti to remain at Bridges Charter School.
Concerned Parents
Jay was approachable, thoughtful and a fair leader. He greeted parents and children by name, and his door was always open. He was removed without any explanation given to the parents by the school board. He believed in our school and tried hard to follow the Whole Child approach to education. He had excellent goals for the future of our school. Good luck to those making decisions -like removing Jay - in finding yet another person to try to lead this school.
