Definitely! It's never a humans fault if they're lgbt, they can't help it. You can't choose your sexuality, people discovering their true sexuality can even scare them. They just can't help it at all. Gems don't have genders, so overall I believe it's fair for them to have Ruby and Sapphire as a couple. Plus, without them being in love we can't have Garnet for long periods of time.

I agree 100%. It is wrong to censor tv shows that simply show that it doesn't matter if their gay or lesbian. Adults who try to censor this is foolish and unessassary. And that is why I say thank you Cartoon Network, for being the 1st tv program to show that love doesn't matter what sex you are. It shows that u care and devote your love to that individual. Whether they are gay or straight. Everyone deserves love. Shows like Steven Universe and Clarence are beautiful shows and shouldn't be cancelled.

I agree with this petition 100%. However, I hope that the creator of the petition will add more detail to the description. In its current form, this petition sounds just as angry and childish as the petition to censor the episode. It is important to show the we, the people who are against censoring loving relationships, show that we are educated on the issue. I think this petition would serve it's purpose better IF the creator puts in information about the gems being "agender" as Rebecca Sugar has said. Furthermore, it would behoove the creator to bring in the "points" from the petition to censor "Jailbreak" and counter them with logic and compassion.

Censoring this episode would be horrible for kids! What if there are young girls learning to come to terms with their sexualities and they feel awkward and weird or broken because they are attracted to women? Seeing this couple on television might have given them hope that they weren't alone or broken or weird, and could encourage them to reach out to people like them for support and advice.
Why is it we believe that children are "too young" to know themselves or their own sexualities?
Or, better yet: Why do we believe that censoring this kiss is okay, but say, Finn's or Jake's hetrosexual relationships on Adventure Time is perfectly alright for kids to see? (And yes, there have been smooches, and Jake's even had kids.)
There are too many kids who can't reach out about their sexualities because we have so many parents dictating what they can and can't see, and the biases of the parents are dictating what they deem "acceptable". I'm not saying show kids porn (heaven forbid), but showing them that heterosexual isn't the only option for love or romance is hardly showing something indecent.

People's logic is ridiculous. They don't want LGBT relationships on TV, because they're gonna brainwash their kids?? I was (and still am) bombarded with heterosexual relationships in the media and I turned out bisexual, so clearly the media has no effect on people's sexualities. Anyways, what's so bad about being LGBT?? Yay for gay, and for that matter, all LGBTQ+ people! Rock on my brethren!

This is a topic I feel very strongly about, and feel that parents need to pay more attention to their children's shows, and pay attention more to the actual show rather than just a simple glance at the television and find a part they deem wrong.
There are underlying meanings in all cartoons, children's alike that I can see, that I was blind to as a child. If parents watched the show and took into consideration what the actual show is, they would not jump to conclusions.
In Steven Universe, all gems are in fact, gender-less, given the fact that they can shape shift into any form they please. Some gems show masculinity, while others come off as more feminist. This is how the show was created and was meant to be portrayed to the audience.
Besides the fact that parents do not pay attention to the actual show itself, why don't they bother to pay attention to cultural aspects and how others react with one another. Just because the two characters, Ruby and Sapphire seem to have a "homosexual relationship" at first glance, how do we know that? The show has not revealed anything about them.
I have had a best friend of fourteen years. She and I are completely heterosexual when it comes to our sexuality. We don't have problems with anyone and their opinions and their sexuality, it is simply something that we prefer; but given these circumstances, we hold hands in public, we smile and get "too close for comfort". We say I love you in broad daylight. That doesn't mean we're attracted to one another, and it doesn't mean that she and I are in a relationship.
It is a common gesture in many parts of the world to kiss each other on the cheek, or areas on the face. These can all mean greetings, indicate friendship, provide comfort and show respect. Being interested on a emotional or sexual level is not the only intention of this gesture, but is merely a mode of perception.
Back to my best friend and I, we would die for one another. We love each other to death. We l
