Gay people exist, and kids are going to be gay and see gay people whether this episode stays on the air or not. Homophobia has no place in modern times. Steven Universe is proving to be THE MOST important childrens show ever made.

Any time a same sex kiss happens on a cartoon meant for children, it always seems to be meant for a laugh or just as a joke, making it seem like same sex couples themselves are a joke. This is not the case in the most recent episode of Steven Universe. This show was beautiful from the very beginning and now that they've portrayed a lesbian couple as normal and in a serious situation, the show has stolen even more of my heart. There are kids out there that watch Steven Universe and they might be gay. They always see heterosexuals on all their favorite shows and they might begin to assume that something's wrong with them. And then they see this, and they feel like they are valid. They feel like who they are is not a joke, but it's beautiful. They are beautiful. This is why shows such as these need to remain uncensored. It makes those who relate feel better and know that there is nothing wrong with who they are.

I hate it when people saya that LGBT issues shouldn't be discussed in children cartoons. it just perpetuates hatred and teaches the younger generations that being different is not ok.

I love this show and as a bisexual myself I see no problem in seeing LGBT characters in tv shows regardless of what homophobic parents think.

As a queer teenager, Steven Universe is very important to me... I don't think something that brings reassurance to anyone in the LGBTA+ community should be cancelled.
