Granada Hills Charter High School is voting on removing sports teams from practicing during 6th period and instead they will need to start practice after school.Students would be able to take PE in addition to playing their sport, but it will take up more time in their busy schedules and make them a lot more exhausted. Sign the petition to let the administration know that you think this is the wrong choice and sports need to continue to practice during 6th period.

The momentum behind this push to keep our 6th period practice schedule is building across campus. Text three of your teammates right now to ensure they have signed. We need the administration to see our full strength before the vote.

The administration is still refusing to meet with us about the proposed schedule change. Reach out to your student representative today and tell them why losing 6th period practice hurts your academic performance.

As a former student athlete myself in high school, it is not smart to do this. My high school did this my sophomore year and not only did the performance decline (the students were tired and stressed for time) but morale fell too.

6th period PE/Sports was critical for me in both basketball and volleyball time wise. Delaying it till after school would have, and will, take time away from other important things along study lines, family time, and being able to have time to relax from school and studying.

Mr. Bauer just praised the student/athletes during the 2017 graduation ceremony and how such a high percentage of Granada students participate in sports and are successful academically. The current system is a great factor in their success as Student/athletes.

Handling sports and school is already a challenge but adding a whole other class in to the mix will be impossible. And with all of the sports practicing after school, there will be not be enough room for all of the teams (in the gyms, field, etc.)

As a student athlete I typically come home at 5pm and have to immediately do homework and if my sport were to be moved an hour later then I would get home at 6 and lose an entire hour of studying and completing my homework. 6th period should still be for sports not 7th

I have a sport, and as it is, I have had to drop a class to accommodate. If this "rule" passes, I will have to drop another one of my classes, and I will not be able to complete the requirements that GRANADA set, due to a restriction that GRANADA placed.
