As Salaamu Alaykum dear beloved believers. I am overwhelmed by the love and support from everyone and have read all the supportive comments with my family present and every single name and person ( all 93 when I wrote this) I have made a special du'a (prayer) for everyone. If there is one thing I can request it would be du'a (pray for each other) for that is the only thing that has carried any righteous peoples or community through difficult times, like these. I came to this community one year ago and since then have met some of the kindest and most wonderful people on Earth, they (you) have only positive imprints on my heart. I will continue my search and relocation process in the meantime, as the Mosque of Nasreen is no longer in need of an Imam. please refrain from speaking ill of anyone during the entire process. I have made it clear to those that have reached out to me that we should not boycott the masjid (mosque) or any religious organization but take this moment to realize how much we need to work on ourselves as a community trying to grow. We are a minority and need to stand up for what is right. We live in troubling times and recently July 2016 much has happened around the world and for this the world mourns and cries. But God gives us many reasons to be happy, beacons of hope and light all around us, gratitude, and thankfulness for good. For one, today July 20th is my birthday and I celebrate this spark of hope with my supportive wife, cozied up sipping hot chocolate enjoying some sweet soothing silence and reflecting fondly on all the sincere and serene messages of love from all of you. May Allah bless your hearts.

Letting go of imam Mus'ab is silly. He's been an incredible mentor for many of my friends and offers wisdom with only his presence. Reconsider the decision, or this might instill no confidence in the Mosque's board of directors.

If you can't have tolerance for a young moderate imam that is very knowledgeable who tries to respect everyone and all religions (Christianity and Judaism), then you seriously need to evaluate your faith. I only knew this man for a short time, and I felt incredibly welcomed by him.

I don't live in SLO but I've honestly thought of moving there just so I have the blessing of going to that masjid every day. Mus'ab has made that place into a safe and positive environment. His lectures and advice have always been worth hearing. I'd be very disappointed if he is no longer imam.
