I drove my son (now 12) to Schreiber Methodist Preschool from Flower Mound (20 miles each way) for a year, ate our lunch in the car, and headed back to Flower Mound. After much research and tours of 8 other preschools, I chose Schreiber because it was certified by rigorous standards, had very small classes and outstanding teachers. What more can you ask for? Carol Ann was an excellent director; warm, personable, and caring for the children. Please consider reopening it. As a member of the United Methodist Church and a graduate of SMU, please give faithful and discerning consideration to keeping the Schreiber Methodist Preschool open. Oscar and Lucy Deck came into this world under the most challenging of circumstances and were blessed beyond measure to be adopted by their loving parents, Matt and Deanna. Where else but Schreiber will Lucy and Oscar receive the educational excellence, level of individualized attention, and nurturing environment they deserve? Allowing Schreiber to remain a light in the community of Dallas is in absolute keeping with the United Methodist Church mission: "Local churches provide the most significant arena through which disciple-making occurs."

As a close friend of the family of Oscar and Lucy Deck, I want to urge you to keep their lovely preschool open. It's hard to find good places for our young children, and as an SMU graduate, I'd like to think that the Methodist Church would feel both proud and duty-bound to keep Schreiber open.

Schreiber has been an amazing learning and nurturing experience for both of our grandchildren. Early childhood learning is critical to the foundation of all children. The learning foundation established by Schreiber has been the key to success for our granddaughter and we hope the same opportunity will continue to be given her brother. This is my grandson's, who is 2 1/2, favorite place to go. Here is made feel so special and he has all his art on the art wall at his home and shows everyone who comes over. The story time, songs and manners taught are so formative and essential to reinforce what is taught at home. Social interaction with children his age under supervision that teaches all inclusive attributes such as sharing and caring in a loving environment is has long lasting ramifications that will impact all of society as the years go on. Please do not close this model pre school.
