SAM hiring an outside security force and installing hostile architecture is such a violent attack on people who are unhoused and already experiencing pain. This torture of unhoused people does nothing but ping pong them around Seattle and does nothing for their situation and does nothing to permanently create any sort of security. Permanence of security looks like compassion for our unhoused neighbors like work that helps reduce harm not manginfy it! I am telling the SAM to reinvest their resources to help these people who are displaced or else this cycle of pain will only continue.

I’d like to learn more about this and hear the museums response to their current plans and the language used.

The Seattle Art Museum’s leadership’s choice to dehumanize rather than welcome our homeless neighbors makes me question - honestly a lot of things - including why I work there.
