On May 8, 2016, our boxer dog, Rocky, accidently got out of his leash while being held by Brady Sartorius and jumped on the victim. The victim was injured with a scratch on her leg and a mark that was assumed to be a single bite mark. The victim said that it was no big deal and not to worry about it at which time my dad, Rick Sartorius, volunteered to cover any and all medical expenses. Since the incident over 2 months ago, the victim has now decided that they are pressing charges for the "dog bite" and have petitioned the city to have our dog removed. Mount Pleasant has one of the strictest dog bite laws, as most communities allow "one bite." This is our family dog and he has never been aggressive toward anyone. We are asking for your help in petitioning the city council to allow us to keep our dog or my parents will be forced to leave the community. So please if you would, sign to keep Rocky!

We are getting so near to that first hundred mark and honestly my hands are shaking a bit because I just really need the council to see how many people actually care about Rocky staying home with us. If you happen to know anyone in Mount Pleasant please just send them the link right now while I try to stop pacing around the living room because the stress is truly unreal.

Where is the proof that it was a dog bite as opposed to a nail scratch when the dog jumped. My dogs tend to jump and I get nail scratches all the time... Certainly it isn't worth losing a dog over!
I walk a lot in the evening and run into Ann and Rocky walking. Rocky has always been loving and friendly. I have often stopped to pet him or say hi to Ann. Please look at these cases on an individual bases. He is a great dog.
Went in and out of house unannounced for 2 weeks while installing kitchen....Rocky never showed a bit of aggression. Maybe he knows how to sense a person's character.
I hope you guys can keep him with you guys! I know what's it's like when someone does this to a family. 6 or 7 years ago this happened to my family. And we lost our boxer because of the city council.
a single incident does not indicate a pattern of bad behavior. Puppies get excited; older dogs with fading eyesight/hearing can be startled. When adults make a mistake, they say sorry and move forward - let the dog have a second chance.
Leave the dog alone
So sad. We have a boxer as well and couldn't imagine losing him over something so silly. He has accidentally given me several scratches (including a pretty bad one very close to my eye), but that's because he's a lover and always wants to jump up to be close to his mom and dad. I can't wrong him for that! Best of luck.
