As a resident of Westview Terrace, I am strongly opposed to Variance Request #2018-1572.

This Variance Request would prevent the extension of Maybank Dr. through the 5-acre site north of Reverse St & Teluco. Wile the variance request is to prevent the extension of Maybank Dr, the approval of this variance would limit access to future developments on this 5-acre site to either Long Point or Reverse St. The Westview Terrace Civic Association has learned that it is the developer’s intention to make Reverse St. the Single Point of access into the proposed development. So while the variance request itself is separate matter from the use of Reverse St as a point of access, it is the first step in making Reverse St a point of access to the 51 homes proposed on the 5-acre site to which only Reverse St would be used for access.

Furthermore, the residents of Westview Terrace request that Brenda Stardig’s office support us in opposing this variance and recommend to the City that it be denied. Instead the builder should create access to his/her development though Long Point, which is designed to accommodate high volume traffic safely.
