Final supporters
This October (2015) a small group of residents in Providence Village are organizing the Beer Olympics, which is an event of drinking games and open drunkenness. The event is to be held at Providence Lake.
Most PV residents love our neighborhood for the family friendly atmosphere. This public spectacle is not in accord with the mission statement of our HOA which states, "Huffines Communities™ is also proud to provide the structure for a very active Homeowner's Association responsible for maintaining the beauty of the community while encouraging family fun."
We believe such activities should be limited to private homes, bars, and nightclubs, not the public areas or parks of Providence Village where our children play. If you want to keep our neighborhood family friendly and prevent the neighborhood from being known as a party neighborhood, then please support PV by adding your name to the petition. We do plan to present this petition to the HOA board of directors who are already discussing this matter privately due to the volume of complaints from our PV residents. Thank you!

doesnt this go against public intoxication laws? Not okay with a bunch of alcohol being played as a game in our community.
I'm concerned this event will encourage irresponsible drinking. Doesn't seem very family friendly to me. With alcohol involved, it seems the "party" could easily get out of hand. Would anybody be surprised if fights broke out, someone drove home drunk, property was damaged? I'm just surprised Providence Village wants to be associated with something like this.
To those making the decision about allowing this event to take place; please make the right decision by placing a higher priority on our children. They will be hearing and seeing these activities of drinking, drunkeness, and loud music right at our own park and lake. Allowing adults to drink this quantity of beer and to vomit in our park is unbecoming of the standards of Providence Village. Please make the decision to not allow this event to take place. We are trusting you with our families and our homes.

A simple web search of what a beer olympics event is will clearly show that this is not a family friendly activity. I would ask that the HOA uphold the safe, family friendly environment that we treasure here in Providence.
No outside beer parties at any of the lakes where it could also be very dangerous for anyone who has had too much to drink

This is not an appropriate activity for a family friendly community. Because of the location near the lake, many nearby homes and children will be exposed to things that are inappropriate and unsafe.
