Professor Wender is without a doubt the best professor I've had while here at UW. His courses and teaching style have done so much more for me than any other classes I've taken in college. It is so apparent that he really cares about his students and that he really wants us to come out of his class with a better understanding of the complex world we live in. In a world of educators who care more about test scores and their own research, it is so refreshing to have a professor who really just wants you to learn and leave his class more enriched than when you went in. Wender didn't just teach us how to be good students, he taught us how to be better people.

I enjoyed every minute of Professor Wender's lectures (which says a lot!). He is such a stimulating, beloved and passionate professor who makes his students genuinely interested in the subject matter.

One of the best professor I've ever had. I can actually manage to stay awake and fully focused during his 1.5 hour lectures. That's saying a lot!

Professor Wender is an AMAZING professor and has inspired me more than any professor or teacher ever has. If I hadn't taken Soc 110 with him as a freshman, I probably would not be a Sociology major/lsj minor today. Please don't let him go!!

My roommate talks about the incredible influence that this professor has on him in his academic experience, and in life on a consistent basis.

Jonathan Wender is the most passionate and enlightening professor I've had the pleasure of working with throughout my college career. It's very rare for a university to find an esteemed academic like Jonathan whose dedication to education and his students is coupled with years of field experience as a police officer. Anytime an undergrad in any social science department asks me for class recommendations, I mention Wender first and foremost. His unique teaching style encourages class participation, engages the students on a direct level, and (as cliché as it sounds) really makes the exploring the material more enjoyable. Wender's classes have given me opportunities to grow as a student, I couldn't imagine the Sociology or LSJ departments without him. DIdn't he just get nominated for an esteemed collegiate teaching award, who would let this guy go?!

Great teacher, popular among students and faculty. Adequately applies real world experience into the classroom.

The University of Washington needs more professors like Wender. He makes it clear that he wants us to take what we learn in the class to our outside world and that is so imperative in college. Many times professors don't care about that, and only tend to care about passing students with the grades they deserve. I would consider Wender to be a mentor and someone I could refer to later in life.

Professor Wender is by far my favorite professor that I have had at UW. His lessons are something I will carry with me for the rest of my life. He legitimately cares for his students well being and embodies the kind of the professor the University should want to represent them. I supremely hope that students here in the future can take his classes because I know he has touched many lives for the better in his stay here.
