Best professor I've had at UW hands down. His experience and passion is needed at UW and I think he will be sorely missed.

By far one of the best professors at UW. Preaches tough love for SOC 110, but you can actually feel the love.

Unforgettable, passionate, irreplaceable professor. UW is lucky to have someone like him on their staff - it would be a complete mistake to release him!

I never knew that one class could be so life changing. I was on the verge of being a college drop out, however Professor Wender allowed me to develop a passion to work in the field of criminal justice. He is so inspirational, and you can tell that he deeply cares if students are learning and engaged in every class. I looked forward to every class, and always came with a desire to learn. To this day, if it weren't for Professor Wender, I wouldn't be where I am. We need more professors like him, especially to equip individuals pursuing the criminal justice field with the mentality to fight social injustice!

Hands down one of the best professors I have had during my college career. His nontraditional approach is refreshing and challenging. Most importantly, he is 100% invested in whether his students engage critically with material and retain the knowledge they gain from his classes. You can't put a price on the kind of passion and investment he has in teaching,

When I think of my time at UW, his classes are the first to come to mind. Easily the best and most helpful professor I received an education from while attending UW.

He's an incredible instructor. The university is making a HUGE mistake. I would hate to see Jonathan leave, he has helped shape my character as a student tremendously. KEEP JONATHAN WENDER AT UW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
There are a bunch of bad teachers that UW should get rid of. This man is definitely not one of them.

Wended is the one professor that I can honestly say left a real impact on me throughout my collegiate career. He forced his students to think critically about tough and sometimes uncomfortable topics. I M truly shocked and appauled that the UW would allow themselves to lose such a critical influence on their students that Wender was.

I am a 2011 graduate from the LSJ program. On a campus full of professor who clearly teach in order to do their research, Wender was different. He actually cared about his students and if they learned. He talked freely and openly about the criminal justice system in a honest way. I always thought that was what made the LSJ department different at UW. It would be a shame to see him go.

It's few and far between that a professor truly touches your heart, and inspires you to keep learning. Here's to Professor. Wender! May his teaching continue, and may future students be inspired by him too.

Jonathan is the first professor I've had where I enjoyed his teaching style so much that I happily signed up for another class taught by him. He's such an inclusive, insightful, and caring person and professor. I ended a lot of our classes thinking he was my favorite professor here. Ending our Drugs and Society class with him letting us know of the department's decision incredibly shocked and disappointed me. He deserves more than anyone to stay and teach the subjects of which he's so obviously passionate and knowledgable.
