I'm a staff person at WXPR public radio in Rhinelander, Wisconsin. I also founded our current polka show in 1989, each Saturday morning. The show has almost always been our NUMBER ONE (per hour) on-air fundraiser! Polkas work on public radio! Love them! Don't cut them! [email protected]

Listening to the polka shows is the high-lite of my weekend. How am I going to do my housework without the peppy music to keep me going?

I need to re-evaluate my donations to the Engineering Department and to the WMUA Polka station if this petition is not successful.

I grew up in Florida, NY and have been listening to polka music all my life. It is a part of my every day living. A piece of me would be missing without it. Please restore polka music back to your station. It may not mean something to you, but to us Polish citizens, it is a piece of our family heritage. Sincerely, Tarryn A Kamrowski 88 Coldenham Road Walden, NY 12586

This Polka Shows on WMUA have been a cornerstone of your station for YEARS.. And is responsible for the most money you will ever raise to offset expenses due to their radiothon...and this is the appreciation you show?? As a "college" stations you should show your appreciation to the "local" communities and you have failed to realize this...As a result you fail to understand. what your obligation is to be a good neighbor...

A program with such wide appeal and which has been a significant revenue-generator for the university ought to continue; it's music that is joyous and part of our proud Polish heritage. Please reconsider!!!
