Keep the 12 hrs of polka music on WMUA Saturday & Sunday. I can't believe you are taking away polkas on Saturday.

I have contributed for many years to the Polkathon for the benefit of the radio station as a whole. The money from the Polka fans supports all the diverse programming How much $ did all the other groups donate? it's a disgrace for UMass to pull the plug on Polkas a few weeks after we helped the station so much! UMass is not a community player.

This was a family tradition spanning several generations for many people who live in the pioneer valley...creating a strong bond with their heritage. Many looked forward to listening to their favorite (polka) music in nursing homes and reminiscing...it is happy music...what will these people do...this may be the only thing they can relate to and bring a smile to their faces...especially if they are alone in a nursing home...or at home and immobile...without access to computers, ipods,etc. The younger generation can get their music anywhere, and go to see it live...but the elderly cannot. And for families raising their kids to know their polish heritage and traditions....it's priceless...how can this be taken away. What people need is more of this not less. I think there should be more emphasis on community.

Keep the polish music playing!

I have listened to the Polka station since it began, I cannot image waking up on a Saturday and Sunday without that wonderful, cheerful Polka music. . . .what a disgrace for WMUA to do this after all these years and all the support that the listeners give to Keep Polka Musice alive in the Valley.

I am deeply saddened by the news. I have listened to Wmua polka shows for my whole life so sad.

We listen on line regularly and hope WMUA reconsiders their decision. Tom & Carol Reznekervitz Freetown, MA.

I grew up listening to weekend polka. I want my nephew to be able to as well!!
