I myself am a polka radio DJ in Cleveland. It is inexcusable for a college radio station to turn its back and abandon the community. There are very few ways to keep our ethnic heritage alive and radio is one of, if not the best way, to reach our fellow Poles and polka music lovers. This move by WMUA amounts to ethnic discrimination. Shame on those who are looking to silence our beloved music.

As a polka dj, this is extremely disappointing to hear. With the amount of time and money he polka community has invested in WMUA, the station managers should be absolutely ashamed of themselves. Keep polkas strong!

The station management should make an effort to recruit students to help / fill the ethnic broadcasting that pays the station's bills.

I have listened to WMUA via the internet for many years, first from my home in Elmira, NY and now, Raleigh, NC. We listen to WMUA because our family enjoys the unique polka programming on the station. We are also pleased to contribute, annually, to support this programming and station WMUA. It's a great services to thousands of listeners. Thank you.

Lets not change something that has worked for the community because someone has an "idea" that will affect thousands of listeners.
