I'd love to know the real reason that the polka shows are being cut. I don't believe for a minute that it is to "refocus" on the students. Do you think that there is a large listening audience of students from 6AM to Noon on the weekends?

I live in Florida, but listen to WMUA polka on WMUA every Saturday and Sunday. I think the decision makers at the radio station have no idea how many people tune in every weekend. Hopefully this petition makes them realize their error and they rescind their decision.

I can't believe WMUA is going to do this.Polka music is part of our pride and heritage, and as a musical genre,without question, deserves the same respect as rock,country,or any other musical genre you wish to list.As an ethnical vehicle, polka music stands head and shoulders above any other.The hosts of these shows work so hard to bring polka music to all of us,and to cut their shows is a direct insult,and a slap in the face not only toall the Polish people who listen and enjoy these shows,but to the hosts as well.They work tirelessly, not for fame or monetary gain,but because of their heritage and pride in being Polish,and we are so blessed to have them.
Speaking of monetary gain,Todd has already illuminated the fact that the Polish community,has contributed a large sum of money to keep WMUA going.That should not be lost on any of the board members.I listen through the internet, and reside in Port Richey Florida. So this is not just a local concern,but one that stretches from Mass to California, and every state in between.
I m sure if this were rap,hip hop,rock or any of the larger popular geners, we would not be having this discussion.If you think Polka music is not popular, or is important, think of how long polka music has been on WMUA,all the signatures you are about to get,all the money these shows have raised,then ask yourself "why". I think you will come up with the right answer, and keep these shows the way they are.
My deepest heart filled thanks to Todd,Billy,and everyone for putting on these shows to keep our heritage and pride.I owe you all a debt of thanks that I'll never be able to pay,but I'll keep on trying.From my heart,all my love and thanks to you all.

This is WRONG! A HUGE MISTAKE!
There are so many faithful listeners... There will be many unhappy people... Polka music is alive and thriving here in MA and across the country.. why not reconsider giving back a few more hours????
