Internet listener from Omaha, NE and supporter of WMUA solely to support the availability of great polka music. This is a slap in the face of loyal listeners from around the country that contribute to the station's fund raiser as a thank you to the station and also the loyal volunteer DJs. I certainly hope that the station management reconsiders this inexplicable decision.

I think curtailing the Polka programs is despicable. The college gets new equipment for three studios and then puts the screws to the Polish people. I hope that they can sleep nights.

Loyal polka fans listen to these programs year and donate to the annual polka marathon. Cut some other programming, not the polka shows. They raised quite a bit of money over the years and their voices should be heard.

We were very disappointed to hear last week-end of the decision by WMUA station programming to eliminate the 12 hours of polka music on Saturdays and Sundays. You have taken away all polka music on Saturdays and given us a measly 4 hours on Sundays. BIG DEAL! Looks like the polish community has got it stuck to them right up the you know where. After over 36 years on the air, and over l/2 million $$$$$ donated by our polkathons since l980, this is the thanks we get. Because of us, you got 3 new studios with equipment over the years. Our last polkathon alone raised over $ 24,000 in 20 hours. Almost $l,000 per hour. The balance of your radiothon for the whole week of all your programming raised only $4,000 . NO BRAINER! Not only does it affect the many listeners around the world, you have taken that one little bit of joy for the veterans who fought for us, the shut-ins and the elderly in nursing homes. Doctors and nurses have told us how much they looked forward to the week-end and the radios and computers were turned up for them. It is thoroughly a disgrace to the POLISH community who have supported this station for over 36 years. Let me tell you we Polish are a tough bunch of people and we will not take this lying down. We will fight to the bitter end to get back the l2 hours of polka music again on Saturdays and Sundays. You owe this to us! We were even able to get you under-writers who no doubt will cancel out because of your decision. It is said "you never bite the hand that feeds you". In the meantime, we will not be listening or supporting any of your programs other than the 4 measly hours you have given us on Sundays. You even have taken away FOCUS who had the show for over 50 years! Thanks to all the DJ's and helpers who gave up their week-ends week after week to promote polka music. (Mitch, Deb, Ed, Billy, Ernie, Helen, Charlie and Sandy.) Also, to keep us informed about what was going on in the polka world.

I object to the change in hours of Polka programming. Polkas have carried your station for many years through monetary donations. If you continue to change the hours I want my donation returned to me as polka programming is the only reason I donated. If you do not return my donation it is fraud as this decision was made before the fund raiser.

I listen to the program every week on Saturday and Sunday. I have been a loyal supporter of this program for many years and look forward to it every week. I think it is a disgrace what they have done to the Polish Community especially after the recent fundraiser where the money was raised, we thought, to keep the programming going on as usual.

This is soo sad to hear. After all the hard work, DEDICATION and money donated to this station, this is the payoff? Very disgusting. POLKA MUSIC is HAPPY MUSIC. Please keep the shows going. Thank you
