Idea's standards and expectations seem to be increasing as time passes by. Idea's main purpose is to get their students to college and prepare them for college, they do so by allowing their students to learn in a college like environment, yet their students are forced to follow this "dress code" that seems quite ridiculous. How are we supposed to 'practice' these College like activities when we are pestered with these uniform rules. If we do end up going to college, there is a very HIGH chance that we are not going to be forced to wear a specific type of attire. Now, I understand that they wish for their students to look professional, but what difference does it make if they just so happen to have pockets. Seems as if IDEA is not quite living up to their promises. They are "preparing" us for when we go to college, yet they worry about pockets? This rule must be changed or edited in some way that satisfies the students and the faculty.
Idea, please. Listen to your students, they were mature enough to start a petition, least you could do is at least listen to what they have to say and possibly share the reasoning behind the "No Pockets" rule.

They said our pants can't have designs on the back pockets but I don't think they say anything about not having pockets at all

Okay fr why does idea keep making these dumb af rules? This is getting ridiculous and if they keep this up people will start leaving the school, I hope someone from HQ will see this and see other people's opinion on these rules.

I think it's wrong how the school is making the students wear jeans with no back pockets. Students don't have a lot of money for that.

Getting rid of pockets and making kids buy new pants seems like a waste of time for a school that is on top of its game. I've been going to this school for three years and now a new obsticle I face is pockets? Please. Its bad enough that uniforms are a disaster to keep in check. The biggest insecurity idea headquarters has is their image and should really look into other priorities like their main goal, GETTING KIDS INTO COLLEGE. So let's sweat the small stuff and not worry about pockets.
