Our trade is completely a hands on skill. It’s extremely difficult to learn new techniques through non-hands on methods. Extending the licensing deadline would better serve licensed massage therapists more than allowing us to take classes on line. Again, this is a trade that relies on touch and tactile feedback

As a Licensed Massage Therapist, I rarely take online classes because I need to feel the techniques on me and perform them on others to know that I am doing them properly. We have a huge responsibility to do no harm when working with the human body. I fear that forcing LMTs to take all their classes online in order to renew their license is not taking this into account, and this is not something I or many others would feel comfortable with. I hear other boards have had their licensing periods extended. Please do the same for massage therapy.

Covid19 May remove 3-6 months of classroom interaction, that shouldn’t remove the remaining 18-21 months of availability for in class instruction. Furthermore, the financial impact to CE providers could prove devastating both financially and sustainably.

Licensed Massage Therapist - we need to have in-person training so we do no harm. It's hard to learn the techniques online and need to actually have the ability to learn using a live subject that can give feedback.
