I bought here because off what the town was. We're quickly losing that feeling and we definitely aren't getting long term benefits by having sip many new apartments. Stop this, it's already out of hand.

We're quickly losing that rural feel in our community. It's also creating severe congestion on Main St. & Parker Rd. We don't have the infrastructure to support thousands of more people moving into this area.

I'm a longtime Parker resident who came here to get away from the hustle and bustle that Denver was becoming. I chose Parker because I loved the small-town community feel it had back then. I also enjoyed this town because when one would drive to it, especially after being in Denver or Aurora, one would feel like they were out in the country and away from all the madness that big cities bring. While I do understand that we cannot stop progress and growth, I do believe we can slow down these types of developments to decrease the effects they have in our community environment. It is unfortunate to see that our representatives are choosing to continually disregard the people they represent and continue to approve these types of developments that only minimize the appeal and value of our community. Please vote no!

We located to Parker because it had a unique, rual feel. The small town charm, friendly neighbors and underdeveloped space allowed for that special feeling. Those who visited our home / community also recognized enough to comment on our unique setting, providing us that feeling of living in a truly special home and area. As years progress our pleasant town is now beginning to resemble Aurora- (which once had under developed areas and open space too, believe it or not). This is sad because our family definitely chose NOT to live in Aurora during its growing years of cheaply constructed structures or in those bigger communities like Highlands Ranch, where growth seemed way too expansive. At the time we moved here, town leaders were committed to minimal growth, preservation of Parker's open spaces and height restrictions above one story. Those values in favor of preserving a unique community certainly have changed in the last 20 years; now our community is becoming unrecognizable.
If the Parker Town Counsel will stand NOW with its residents in solidarity, 2017 can be a critical time to pause and LISTEN to the community's concerns about new growth.
This can be an excellent and timely opportunity to encourage creative development of land- responsibly, for the sake not only of current residents but also to the benefit of local land owners. Nobody has to lose (except the out of town interests). Let's promote the development of property within Parker with the aim of preserving town pride for further generations. THIS is the time to realize the specific need to provide direction and creative mentoring to land owners wishing to to sell or develop. Responsible development in community minded ways, will offer profits for sellers and business opportunity to future investors / builders.
It is NOT responsible, creative or neighborly to leave our Parker neighborhoods 'behind' with 'wastelands' of apartment buildings; they automatically drive down property values for homeowners

We moved to Parker 12 years ago because we wanted a small town, mainstreet, community feel. While it does still exist, it is diminishing quickly. Growth is great but why not spread out. There is no reason to fill every available space with another unnecessary apartment complex. Everyone agrees there is not enough infrastructure to handle the increase of population. I know "studies" are done for necessity & parking before building approval is recommended to the planning commission and then to town council. Maybe it's time to reevaluate who/how the studies are done. Lately many of these "studies" clearly don't pass a simple common sense test. "You can only fill a pail so full before you need a bigger bucket.".

Looks like a congestion nightmare. Slapping Parker with an ugly stick. Oyr neighborhood safety is going to be put at risk.

After 27 years in the Pinery, I can't move out of Parker fast enough. The worst part of my drive to work at Anschutz is getting through the Parker traffic and it continues to get worse with all of the construction. Such a shame that our beautiful town is being ruined by poor foresight and planning.
