We have done this program for many years. At this point in our lives we do not want to continue in this program without the continuity we have with Christof, Virginia and Georgeann. The dynamics of this program is a success because of the teamwork of these three people. As soon as we learned that Christof would not be returning this summer, we advised Virginia that we will not do this program. Over the years, we have mixed our group with other German groups and their leaders and have encountered German leaders (just a couple) that were definitely not the quality of Christof, and we just don't want that experience. I can't tell you how thankful we were that we had Christof. Our only experiences with Christof have been as the German leader, but we are very comfortable with him and his capacity to interact with the American teachers and host families. This is a great program and we have enjoyed it for many, many years, but continuity is important to us.

I have joined the HB program in 2013.
Christof, Virginia and Georgeann are the best team and educators that you could wish for! It was an amazing summer due to their loving kindness. Christof was an amazing confidant and the most funny guy to hang around with. You could literally do nothing with him and still have the best time. He cared a lot about the students, never let anybody feel left out or left behind. He always made people smile and really knew how to educate and teach us english. without him the trip wouldnt have been half as fun. i remember him motivating us to sing at the top of our lungs at the angels baseball game and really feel connected to what we were doing. it was a really hard thing to then say goodbye to him at the airport in germany and then finally hear him speak german for the very first time in 4 weeks. he always convinced us to only speak english to improve our language knowledge and pronunciation. all in all he made the trip something very special and oh so fun! if it wasn't for him i wouldn't do the trip again. i would miss him too much.
please don't let the future students miss out on him!!

I took part in the program in 2008 and had a great experience, thanks to Christof and the local coordinators who worked together perfectly. Christof is a good coordinator and teacher who takes great care of his students and their families. He always had an open ear for the student's problems and made sure that they felt comfortable being far away from home. Therefore, he needs to remain part of the team as he is essential to the program's success!

I was part of the program in 2006 and absolutely loved it the way it was, with Christof being the German Leader who flew all the way from Germany to California with the students and stayed with us there throughout the program, teaching and attending all parts of the social program as well. He is essential to the program and should maintain a part of it.
