We, the undersigned, would like to make representation to the council with regard to the cutting of winter maintenance, i.e.gritting, in our part of the city. Yet again we are to lose key services despite the fact that we pay extra on our council tax in Bradfield.

The list of roads that are to be removed from gritting in the area are not roads that are used infrequently and some of them are actually on the school bus run which obviously means there are families on this route. What are these people to do when the weather is bad and no gritting has been done. Are the council proposing to leave these children in the middle of the village for the parents to collect? The same parents who will have problems getting out because of the lack of gritting.

There is also the question of accessing emergency services, waste collection, milk and postal deliveries and milk collection for the few farms that still have milk quota. Local business will suffer as a result of this, which in turn will affect jobs and livelihoods.

The whole idea will mean that dozens of people will be affected, and many more isolated if this plan is approved. Please think again!
