This is bogus as there are multiple entrances off Highway N for people to come and go without having to traverse the dips. Also, those dips are there now. There was plenty of time for people to address their concerns.

Those who are signing this petition.. Let's get real ...You don't really care about emergency responders and handicap vans getting over dips ....It's all about YOU! You don't care about child safety... All you care about is how quick you can get to Sommers Rd or Hwy N.. Without having to brake...Greed ! I call it like I see it .

When you use words like violate and emergency please have some facts or data to back up your statement ...Show me those costly repair bills... The only thing in violation is the guy doing 40 miles an hour down country Chase .

As a former Fire/ Ems dispatcher.... I can tell you that the dips, do not effect arrival time to an on scene incident. There are many other subdivisions and communities that have dips or some speed control mechanism.. It's never been a problem . Communications, weather and traffic are more of a problem for first responders getting on scene in a timely manner.

The dips are fantastic and serving their purpose. The residents of Countryshire are safer. If you have such an issue with them use a different entrance! And the emergency vehicles do just fine driving over them. The police and fire departments were consulted before they were installed. If you have damage to your car because of the dips you are going too fast.

The City of O'Fallon's guidelines for speeding concerns were strictly followed to come to the City's recommended solution to add the dips and medians. This petition is proof of the problem and that the solution is warranted.
It's laughable to request the very city which made this recommendation to change it back weeks after completion.

I drive a car with ground effects and I can easily go over the bumps at 10mph. Mine scrape curbs if I move to fast, so I'm not buying this rationale. These created increased safety for the children in Countryshire, and that is absolutely first priority in the minds of our residents that voted these in. If you believe they will harm your vehicle feel free to use the entrances to your subdivision.

Since they started this I felt this was a poorly designed way to reduce speed in the subdivision. I do care about the kiddos running around and their safety but no matter how slow you are going, the dips are way too deep and at some point will result in damage to a vehicle.

For those with lower cars - please utilize the entrances and exits to your neighborhoods located at Hwy N. For that matter, use the route to the neighborhood you live that the city and builder provided for you regardless the height of your vehicle.
Since the dips have been installed, I have witnessed emergency vehicles mange the dips without hesitation and harm to the vehicle.

These concerns about handicap and emergency vehicles are poor speculative opinions. Part of the traffic study Countryshire had done involved discussing the effect the dips would have on those vehicles with our local police, fire department, and city board. No concerns were brought up by any of them.
As far as lower profiled cars are concerned, if you're scrapping on the dips, you're going too fast. My wife drives a Kia Optima that sits very low. We scrapped on the dips a few times after they were first installed. Now we know we have to slow down to about 15 mph to prevent scrapping. Inconvenient? Yes. Better than another person getting hit by a car on Contryshire Drive (yes, one person was already hit). Absolutely!

Clearly you're not familiar with the family that started this petition as they do live here. I can guarantee she is not the one driving 40-50mph down this road as she has a disabled child in the car with her that's wheelchair bound. Please stop the negativity until
you know all the facts.

A couple people I know have Low to the ground vehicles and no matter how slow they go it tears up the front of their vehicles. Not only that, emergency vehicles cannot get to the scene in time.

I support this petition for the following reasons:
1.) The dips were both poorly designed and constructed which ultimately will result in vehicular damage to lower profiled cars resulting in unnecessary expense to the owner of the vehicle for repairs that could've been avoided.
2.) The dips clearly violate the capability of allowing a vehicle designed to transport disabled passengers to on public roads without damage to these costly vehicles and forcing drivers to take alternative routes which in the event of an emergency could be a matter of life or death.

This isn't really a serious petition is it? OUR neighborhood (Countryshire residents) is safer now because of the dips that WE petitioned for. People would drive down countryshire drive (25 mph limit) going 40 - 50 mph. I guess we now know who those people are. What isn't safe about the dips? We spoke to the fire department and they were by far in favor of the dips and had no issues with their trucks traveling over them. If you're worried about your car, then you are driving too fast! That's the exact point of the dips in the first place. I realize you could care less because you don't live here, but putting your inconvenience above the safety of others is pathetic. If the dips are doing their job too well for you, you're free to take another route home, and stop adding traffic in a subdivision you don't live in.
