Keep our lock keeper

Myself and my family have known Tim for over 6 years that I've been on the Medway and I'm with all boaters that use allington in total shock that the way he has been treated by the EA Shame on them Tim is a true gentleman and a professionally and doesn't deserve to be treated in this way

Tim is always helpful and cheerful. He raises lots of money for charity

Give me one good reason why Tim should be replaced. He has been nothing but help and a friendly face with Great advice about the river Medway. A familiar face is always great to see. Tim is the face of any boaters up river cruise

We have had a boat for a long time on the Medway and have known Tim and all the lock keepers, going way back to a time when there were five at Allington. Tim has been very helpful and knowledgable with settling the boat and locking times and tides for clearance through Aylesford bridge. He has always been welcoming and we find it sad and a great loss to the lock when boating numbers are falling. We are a member of Rochester Cruising Club and I'm sure we and others will find that he will be a great loss to the river, and hope there is some reconsideration.

For 3 years I have been using the upper Medway system and was always impressed by the courtious and helpful professionalism Tim displayed to boaters and public.

Tim is an upstanding, responsible a diligent servant of the community.

Great job is done at the lock and keeps everyone safe that uses the locks

Top bloke... Not many people can be deemed an institution but Tim is an exceptional exception.

I have been coming upstream to visit maidstone for more than 5 years with my family and boat. We have always enjoyed the welcome and assistance from all the lock keepers at Allington. To hear that Tim has been subject to these allegations is somewhat bewildering. Never have we had anything but good service and help at the lock. I wonder if the EA have looked at the bigger picture or just taken hearsay as fact. I hope that truth and justice will avail and the lock will return to normal.

Tim has always been the most lovely and friendly guy since I moved to allington, always stopped me and my boyfriend to say hello and talk about the area, can't believe this is happening!

Tim is a highly valued and respectable member of our Allington community! Keep Tim as lock keeper!!

Having moved to Allington 6 months ago we were delighted to discover the river and lock within walking distance of our house, we walk every evening and were greeted kindly by Tim one evening who was very informative about the area and welcomed us to the community, indeed we would consider him now a good friend and find the situation he currently finds himself in utterly ridiculous and totally beyond belief especially when it appears there is a total lack of evidence. Please reconsider, this man is an invaluable asset to the job, the lock, the river, Allington in general.

I'm absolutely shocked to find out this gentlemen is no longer working here and has lost his job and home!? How can this be when he obviously knows exactly what he's doing, and is very patient and knowledgeable? Shocking

Absolutely astounded that Tim has been sacked! Completely ridiculous!

Recently in the summer holidays myself, my so. Year old son and my friend walked along to the lock at Allington. We were watching some boats come along and the lock keeper very kindly asked if my son would like to see how the lock worked. He was very informative and friendly gentlemen. He explained to my son and myself and friend how the lock worked. I have since found out that he is no longer working and living up at Allington Lock, much to my dismay! I was planning a trip up there again in the half term, as my son thoroughly enjoyed himself.

DISGRACE! I find it hard to believe that people dont recall the floods over Christmas a few years back, Tim put his own safety at risk by cutting ropes and retying them for those not able to reach their boats and therefore preventing sinking! He was knee high in water working in the dark at night all over Christmas to ensure our boats and safety were all kept intact! Our boats would of been lost had he not put himself in harms way! The speed of the flood water and a major incident almost occurred with boats crashing into the sluice and Tim working tirelessly to avoid a catastrophe! Short memory EA!

I have known Tim for several years now having a boat moored at the lock and have always found him to be extremely helpful, polite and courteous.

As a frequent user/visitor to Allington Lock I can whole heartedly say that I have only ever experienced pure professionalism from Tim. He has been an excellent keeper on the river. Over the years he has helped myself and my family to gain confidence and knowledge of our boating always willing to go the extra mile to help us. A disgrace he has been treated in such a way. The lock will not be the same without him and I for one would reconsider visiting in the future as will miss his friendly manner. I hope the lock does not become the soulless abyss of many other locks on the rivers these days.

In total shock and disbelief! Ask yourself how a person can impact someones life like this with no evidence just pure hatred? How can such a decent man with years of experience and numerous commedations throughout his lifetime go through this? Surely someone should be accountable? Having used the lock numerous times he has the patience of a saint helping those more unsure on the river to taking the time to show children wild seals and wildlife! Not once have i ever felt he is not 100% in control or not felt safe in his presence! Everyone in the local area and river community know they can go to Tim for absolutely anything and are in safe hands! From a professional and personal view you will never find someone who cares more aboit everyone else than themself! Lets hope this madness is stopped and some held accountable!
